Beijing – Tibet - Shanghai

Day 1:
Arrive in Beijing : Pick-up and Check-in
|
May you
have a good journey to Beijing, and our guide will meet you outside
the customs of Beijing Airport after you clear the customs, and then
transfer you to the downtown hotel. The rest of the day is flexible
for your will, have a rest or take a walk near the hotel. |
Day 2:
Beijing ( Breakfast, Lunch )
|
After
having breakfast at hotel, we will visit the
Tiananmen Square
this morning to start our Beijing tour. Strolling round the large
square is very enjoyable where we will see Beijing with ancient and
modern elements, then walk north to the
Forbidden City.
As the largest and best-preserved imperial palace in China, it
vividly indulges us with a whole impression of the royal life. And
also we can appreciate lots of national treasures in Treasure House
of the Forbidden City. Then we will appreciate Chinese featured royal
park -
Summer
Palace,
which boasts of typical Chinese architecture and splendid landscape.
We also visit the
Temple of Heaven,
where the Emperor of the Ming and Qing dynasties would worship heaven
and pray for good harvests. |

Day 3:
Beijing ( Breakfast, Lunch )
|
After
breakfast at hotel, we will have an excursion to the
Badaling Great Wall,
which is regarded as the most popular section of China Great Walls. It
is also the best-preserved section, built during the Ming Dynasty.
After that, we will explore
Beijing
Hutong
by rickshaw to know more about the life and culture of ordinary
Beijing people. This visit can provide us with a distinctive
travelling experience compared to other attraction. |

Day 4: Beijing - Lhasa ( Breakfast, Lunch )
Transfer by air
|
You will
be transferred to the airport for flight to Lhasa of Tibet, then check
in at Lhasa downtown hotel. Upon your arrival at Lhasa, you will be
met by our Tibetan local guide at Gonggar Airport, then will be
transferred to downtown hotel. Have a good rest at hotel to adapt
yourself to the high altitude of about 3,650 meters above sea level. |
Reminder: |
You
should start taking anti-AMS medicines a week in advance before
arriving in Tibet. Anytime in Tibet, no matter hotel or somewhere
else, please do not so exciting to explore the city. And all you need
is a good rest in your room for necessary acclimatization, otherwise
you may easily get mountain sickness. Besides, try to avoid catching a
cold. And a first aid kit including aspirin, antibiotics and AMS
medication is highly recommended.

Day 5: Lhasa ( Breakfast, Lunch )
|
It
believes that this day must leave a lifetime memory for your whole
life. In the morning, you will visit the splendid
Potala
Palace,
which originated from 7th century and once homed to Dalai Lamas. The
Jokhang Temple,
we head to later, as the spiritual center of Tibet, will deeply
impressed you by its magnificence and sincere pilgrims.
Barkhor
street,
hugging the jokhang temple, is regarded as the crowded central Market
in ancient section of Lhasa, and at where you can buy various Tibetan
or other minorities’ souvenirs for your family and friends. |
Reminder: |
1. Due
to the popularity of Potala Palace and restriction on visitor numbers,
perhaps it has difficulty on booking entrance tickets, so the visit of
Potala Palace may shift to another day. But don't worry, we will make
appropriate changes accordingly.
2. For the protection of this world-famous cultural heritage, the
visiting time for Potala Palace is limited in 1 hour. |

Day 6: Lhasa ( Breakfast, Lunch )
|
After
having breakfast, we will drive to the western suburb of Lhasa City
for visiting the
Norbulingka,
and which is meaning 'Treasure Park' in Tibetan. It is the biggest
man-made garden in Tibet, covering an area of 360,000 square meters
(88 acres), with 374 rooms in the various buildings. Then we will have
a side trip to
Lhasa
Carpet Factory,
where you could see lots of elegant rugs and other beautiful
handicrafts. Later that day, after having lunch, the next visit is
Sera
Monastery,
the second monastery in Tibet. Distinctively its famous debating
activities are holding around 3-4 pm regularly every working day that
you should never miss. |
Reminder: |
1. It is
a good idea to pack some food, snacks, and drinking water along your
trip.
2. When you are in a monastery or a museum, please do not smoke,
consume alcohol or make unnecessary noise; neither, do not touch, walk
over or sit on any religious texts, objects or prayer flags.

Day 7: Lhasa - Gyantse - Shigatse ( Breakfast, Lunch )
Transfer by
vehicle
|
After
two days' visit of Tibetan human landscapes, today we will drive about
2 hours (120 km) to appreciate the beautiful natural views of the
famous Sacred Lake of Tibet -
Yamdrok
Yumtso Lake.
The surface of the lake seemly looks like a green jade, hence it was
praised as the most beautiful lake all over the world. Later, we
arrive at Gyantse (2 hrs, 140 km), and take a one hour visit to the
local popular Pelkhor Chode Monastery and the precious Kumbum
Stupa. At last, we drive straight to Shigatse (1.5 hr, 150km) and
check in there. |

For
amazing sceneries and beautiful legend, Yamdrok Yumtso Lake attracts
seas of travelers from all over the world, also it is an excellent
spot for photographic lovers, kindly well prepare your camera for
taking a valuable photo! According to our customers' feedback, the
sufficient sunlight in the afternoon is very suitable for taking photo
there. So for those professional photographers, we can arrange the
visiting of Yamdrok Yumtso Lake the next day when we come back from
Shigatse. |

Day 8: Shigatse - Lhasa ( Breakfast, Lunch )
|
After
breakfast, you will visit the most famous tourist spot of Shigatse -
Tashilhunpo Monastery.
It was founded by the First Dalai Lama in 1447, and expanded by the
Fourth and successive Panchen Lamas. Later on the way back to Lhasa,
we will take you to visit a local Tibetan family, here you can
know more about local culture, customs and life condition of tibetan
people. After several hours' drive, we will back to check-in at Lhasa
downtown hotel. |

Day 9:
Lhasa - Shanghai : Pick up & Check in ( Breskfast )
Transfer by air
|
After
have breakfast at hotel, you can enjoy free time till being
transferred to Gonggar Airport for filght to Shanghai, you could use
this break to have a rest, pack your things or walk around. Then after
3 hour's fly, when you landing in Shanghai, our Shanghai tour guide
will pick you up at airport and send you to check-in, you are supposed
to have a good sleep before starting Shanghai tour. |
Day 10: Shanghai ( Breakfast, Lunch )

As the
biggest city of China, Shanghai definitely offers many lures. Begins
from
Yuyuan Garden
and
Yuyuan Market,
you will appreciate Chinese garden construction and know more about
Shanghai local people. Then with a stroll from
Nanjing
Road
to
the Bund,
you will be impressed by Modern Shanghai amazingly compared with Xi'an.
Later you can view the whole city at the highest floor of
Oriental Pearl TV Tower,
and know about the development of Shanghai with a following visit to
Shanghai Municipal History Museum
at the pedestal of the tower. At night, Shanghai Acrobats Show can be
optionally appreciated. |

Day 11: Shanghai : Free Day ( Breakfast )
|
Regarded
as a flourishing international city and a shopping paradise, Shanghai
has many wonderful places to see and shop. This day is totally up to
you. You could walk along the Bund to see the beautiful views of
modern skyscrapers, or taste some delicious local snacks at old lanes,
or shop at famous commercial streets. Should you need any travel
information ahout Shanghai, just contact our tour guide for your will.

Day 12: Depart Shanghai : See-off at airport ( Breakfast )
|
This is
the last day of your tour, you can have free activity in Shanghai, go
on shopping or have a rest, and later the tour guide will take you to
airport for your flight to next destination. We believe you will love
China and keep forever memories about China in your whole life. |
